Accessibility Statement
Effective April 17, 2026
Our Commitment
Portilla Insurance Partners is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe digital accessibility is a core part of serving our clients and community well, and we work continuously to improve the experience for every visitor.
Conformance Status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines help make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities — including visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor impairments.
Our website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Measures We Take
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy and landmark regions
- Descriptive alt text for meaningful images and
aria-labelattributes for icon-only controls - Visible keyboard focus indicators on interactive elements
- A “Skip to main content” link for keyboard users
- Form fields with programmatically associated labels
- Responsive design that supports browser zoom and reflow
- Color choices that we review against WCAG contrast targets
langattribute set on the root document for assistive technology
Known Limitations
We are actively working to address the following known issues:
- Some secondary and decorative text uses lighter tones that may not meet WCAG AA contrast in every context. We are reviewing these as part of ongoing design updates.
- The desktop “Coverage” navigation dropdown currently opens on mouse hover; we plan to add full keyboard activation so it can be opened and navigated without a pointer.
- Focus ring styling is present but uses a partially transparent color that we are refining for stronger visibility across all backgrounds.
- Embedded third-party content (such as maps, reCAPTCHA, and social media widgets) may not fully meet our accessibility standards because it is provided by external vendors.
